Rat Poison…In pet food?

23 03 2007

This pet food is allegedly blamed for the death of 16 dogs and cats. The company recalled all 95 of their brands off the store shelves. “The substance in the food was identified as aminopterin, a cancer drug that once was used to induce abortions in the United States.” State Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker said. The recall was huge, a total of 60 million cans were sent back. Aminopterin is a very highly toxic material, and just as bad in food. It is said that aminopterin causes kidney failure, supresses the immune system, and causes malignant cells to grow. Experts believe that this substance would not be in the food, unless it was deliberately put it there. The company is already facing several lawsuits.
